Homework and Additional Support
Welcome to our Homework Page.
We ask that children read every night, learn and continue to practise their tables and weekly spellings that have been taught in class each week. Please find the spelling list attached below.
In Year 6 they will start getting a little more homework to prepare them for their SATS.
If you would like to support your child further, there are a number of websites and resources that can be used to do so:
1) Times Tables Rock Stars: Play
Children have the opportunity to partake in quick recall questions which provide them with rewards to update their avatar. All children have been provided with their own individual login details for TT Rockstars.
2) Hit the Button - Quick fire maths practise for 6-11 year olds
Children can complete a variety of number skills which support quick recall. Children have a set amount of time in order to answer multiple questions related to number facts.
3) https://www.spellingshed.com/en-gb
Spelling Shed offers a range of games and other activities to support spellings. The spellings that children learn as part of their homework will also be set on Spelling Shed to allow children to focus on these at their own pace.
4) Primary resources, homework help and online games - BBC Bitesize
BBC Bitesize is a reliable resource which provides videos, quizzes and additional information for all areas of the curriculum. Use this with your children to support the learning that takes place in class.
5) Free KS2 Teaching Resources for Lesson Planning | Oak National Academy
Oak National Academy provides a more in depth look at a number of areas of learning within our curriculum. Find slideshows and worksheets that can support your child's learning in class.
With SATs taking place in Year 6, many parents and carers may wish to purchase revision booklets to to support their child's learning further. SATs specific support materials can be purchased through a number of websites but we would recommend purchasing either CGP or Collins materials. These can be purchased from a number of book retailers both online or in store.
