Class news…Y3 maths, reading and meeting an author.
This half-term we have been looking at multiplication and division in maths, while developing our understanding of 3-D shapes. In our English lessons we started with poetry and now we have started to read The Firework Maker’s Daughter by Phillip Pullman. In art we have been looking at how fruit has been used in artwork through the ages from Ancient Egypt through to more contemporary modern pieces of work. We have enjoyed having Jack from P.N.E. teaching us some skills used in the game of tag rugby and we have been developing skills used in the game of netball too. In science we are investigating light and the benefits but also the dangers the sun poses and how we can protect ourselves. We also really enjoyed a Zoom call with author Susan Brownrigg and she told us about herself and how she writes her books.
